VéloCore is finally on iPhone. And it's free.
You waited. You watched Android riders roll out with the cockpit while you were stuck in a browser. That's over. VéloCore is live on the App Store, version 1.1.2, free to download, and it clearly did not show up to make up the numbers.
The GPS that doesn't lie to you
Most apps work out your elevation by interpolating GPS, then proudly announce 900 m on a route that has 640. VéloCore reads the iPhone barometer. The elevation gain you see is the real one. Recording keeps running with the screen off, in the background, so you don't have to keep the phone awake in your pocket until it cooks. Instant speed, altitude profile, distance: captured in real time, end of story.
Your Dynamic Island becomes a bike computer
Live Activities put the essentials on the lock screen and on the Dynamic Island. One glance, you have your metrics, phone back in the pocket. No unlocking, no fumbling at the traffic lights, no reopening the app every ten minutes hoping it hasn't lost anything.
Where to sleep, where to charge, where to eat
This is where the others leave you stranded. A GPS track is nice; knowing where to pitch the tent at 7 pm with 40 km still to go is better. VéloCore ships with bike-friendly accommodation, wild camping spots and shelters, e-bike charging points, water points and bakeries. Bikepacking weekend or long crossing: you know where to sleep and where to charge at every stage, without opening three other apps.
An SOS that calls the right number
Three levels: report a hazard, request assistance, or trigger the emergency alert. Fall detection keeps watch while you ride, and the emergency call dials the local number of the country you're in, not the one back home. Trivial detail? Ask anyone who has punctured 30 km past a border.
Your data stays your data
Your rides live on your iPhone. You decide what gets published, line by line: location, online status and visibility radius are one tap each, and nothing is open by default. And the day you want to leave, you export everything as GPX, FIT or TCX. No ransom, no proprietary format, no "subscribers-only feature" to get back what you produced yourself.
The price, no games
The essentials are free. Actually free: GPS, recording, routes, export, community. Premium unlocks the advanced features at 5.99 € per month or 39.99 € per year, with a 14-day trial. The subscription is cancelled in Settings, Apple ID, Subscriptions, in three taps, and we won't hold it against you. We'd rather have an app you keep than a charge you forgot about.
